Vivid soft textile drapery with traces of a journey through digital worlds was frozen in ceramics. On the basis of photographs and 3-D scans, mapping algorithms of the CAD software enabled the combination of the folds with three-dimensional bodies such as cuboids or half spheres. This process left different degrees of digital abstraction and created faceted surfaces that give a tense interplay of light and shadow.
The journey through the digital worlds was followed by an analogue output by means of rapid prototyping procedures, followed by artisan mold construction and casting. The resulting objects freeze the vivid and soft folds in the contrasting, delicate porcelain material.
